Open Heart Rhythm and hold the ring with the index finger of your other hand.

02Stay still

Sit, rest your hands, breathe normally. Movement is what ruins a recording.

How to read it

Five things a reading can come back as.

Regular rhythmEvenly spaced beats at a normal rate. Sinus rhythm — the heart is beating steadily.
Possibly irregularSpacing varies more than expected. Worth repeating when you are rested.
Possible AFibA pattern consistent with atrial fibrillation. Bring the report to a clinician.
High or low rateTachycardia or bradycardia during the recording, flagged with the rate found.
InconclusiveToo much movement or poor contact. Nothing is inferred from a bad trace.

Circular is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and is not for use in an emergency.

Ease of use

Real time data

The dual PPG sensor integrated in the ring combined with the Circular app allows you to read your heart signals and blood oxygen in real time and continuously. The Circular app indicates whether your heart rate shows signs of atrial fibrillation, a severe form of cardiac arrhythmia, or if the rhythm is sinus, which means that your heart is beating at a steady rate.

A set of clinically trusted metrics

Circular's recovery, sleep and health is based on the parameters calculated from heart rate (HR), heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate (RHR) and breathing rate (BR)– we sample heartbeats selectively, making it more reliable and accurate. From mental stress analytics to circadian cycle analytics, we offer a complete suite of ready to read, accurate metrics.

  • Heart rateContinuous, day and night, with resting rate separated out.
  • HRVBeat-to-beat variability — the clearest read on autonomic load.
  • Breathing rateBreaths per minute, and deviation from your nightly average.
  • Blood oxygenSpO₂ sampled through the night and on demand.
  • ECGA 40-second single-lead recording, whenever you want one.
  • Skin temperatureDistance from baseline, an early marker of illness.

Excellence in product design

Why a ring, for the heart.

Cross correlations

A ring can be worn anytime. By increasing the wearing time, Circular can cross correlates the user's day and night data with machine learning.

Powerful

Circular provides advanced and personalized insights on your heart health, your current energy, on how to improve your sleep and how to optimize your physical activity.

Better data quality

A ring is firmly attached to the finger, which increases raw measurements accuracy.

Our goal

We want to facilitate the improvement of people's health

Circular combines the technologies of hardware miniaturization, biological measurements and machine learning to enable people to understand and improve their health as discreetly as ever, on a daily basis. Not everyone recognizes symptoms and in many cases, the underlying causes are not diagnosed.

We want people to take advantage of wearable devices to help them engage with their own health. Taking care of oneself upstream means less disease.

Help us pioneer the way to improved personal health

Circular has developed a range of devices and analytic tools that allows healthcare professionals to track the largest array of data points. By partnering up with health professionals for years, we transformed the way data collection can be made and are giving back to the scientific community through qualified data.

  • New discoveriesWe are constantly working on new ways to discover and monitor health conditions and illnesses and pushing our findings through frequent app updates.
  • Build new partnershipsIf you are working in the following fields, we are interested in starting a conversation: arrhythmia analysis, heart failure, stress level, sleep apnea detection, blood pressure, emergency situations & fall detection.

Questions

Before you take a reading.

More in the help centre.

No. It is a single-lead recording designed to catch signs of atrial fibrillation and give you something concrete to bring to a clinician. A hospital ECG uses twelve leads and a trained reader.

Export the report and speak to a clinician. If you feel unwell — chest pain, breathlessness, fainting — treat it as an emergency and call your local emergency number. The ring is not for emergency use.

We recommend people aged 40+ to do a measurement every month if you are healthy. Do more if you have heart symptoms, high risk factors, or a family history of heart disease

Yes. Heart rate, HRV, breathing rate and blood oxygen are monitored continuously, and Vital Alerts tells you when a limit you set is crossed.

Usually movement, a loose fit or cold hands. Sit still, rest both hands on a surface, and try again — the app would rather say nothing than guess from a poor trace.

No. ECG readings, continuous monitoring, alerts and exportable reports are included with the ring, permanently.
